The stories are charming, but this book was meant to be viewed. Each story is accompanied with a beautiful illustration.There are three paintings I am particularly fond. First there is one painting depicting a father and son fishing. It brings back wonderful memories of sharing time with one's father. Both father and son are having a perfect day, yet Sylvia Babbel is able to portray that perfect day from both of their points of view.
Next, there is a picture of a professional singer who is being accompanied by a lively pianist. I loved this one because there is so much to read within the illustration. The singer is very stiff and formal in her performance, while the pianist is having fun, loving every minute of playing. This is reflected in her form, her relaxed nature and even in her clothing.
The final painting I want to share with you is depicted on the cover. I love the feelings I get when I look at that mother pushing her baby in the stroller, then seeing the baby ducks with the mother duck. It brings a smile to my face each time I see it.
These are just a few of the paintings within the book. Visually, this book is amazing. I gave this book 3 stars. I would give it more if it was offered as a hard cover, so that I could truly enjoy the paintings as they were meant to be enjoyed.

I met Sylvia in Roosevelt Roads Puerto Rico in 1977. She has always been a gifted artist. This is a lifetime achievement for my friend that I am delighted has come to fruition.
